The need
The Director of the Istituto di Neuroscienze wanted the new website to reflect her holistic vision of mind-body balance and mental well-being. In particular, the clients asked the Cantiere Creativo team to merge the Institute's website with that of its Director, Prof. Stefano Pallanti, a leading authority in the field who brought along a vast collection of technical and scientific publications of all kinds.
From kickoff to the new sitemap
A cross-functional team made it possible to enhance the Istituto di Neuroscienze's offering, strengthening its identity and its connection with the Director.
In the first phase, materials were reorganized on a Figma board, both to identify the goals of the potential pages of the new site and to catalog the scientific resources found in blogs, journals, books and press releases.
During the kickoff, we ran an SEO audit of the Institute's current website to track results before and after the new site went live.
Next, we studied the customer journey of a prospective patient who has noticed symptoms and is looking for specialists to turn to.
The new sitemap prioritized the section devoted to Prof. Stefano Pallanti, with publications organized into articles, journals and books; the innovative therapies the Istituto di Neuroscienze has championed; treatment of disorders organized by category and symptoms; and the Institute's history, locations and team.
We also planned a page for conveniently paying for services online via PayPal and a section with the frequently asked questions the Institute has collected over the years.
From wireframes to website development
The Cantiere Creativo team designs website pages in Figma. We produced sample page templates to help the clients picture how their site's information could be showcased through the different DatoCMS blocks. The goal was to design most pages as modular, so the Institute's editorial team could easily update content and add image or video blocks later on.
The design team worked on the mood and color palette that would best convey the holistic concept of mental well-being.
Thanks to a cross-functional team, the Agency method proved the best way to meet the needs of the clients, who approved the high-fidelity wireframes, and the site was developed following industry best practices.
DatoCMS made the editorial team's job easier
During content entry, the marketing team trained the editorial team on DatoCMS so they could get the most out of the Media Area and optimize on-page SEO.
Thanks to a page index, managed through simple "label" fields in the editor, even text-heavy pages were easy to read.
Videos from the Institute's YouTube channel were also embedded in the pages, helping clarify concepts for users and making the browsing experience more interactive.
DatoCMS also proved the perfect ally for managing images and attached documents.
A content-rich website that stays fast and accessible
The content of the Istituto di Neuroscienze website and of Prof. Stefano Pallanti's website was brought together in a single site that meets the search intent of current and prospective patients, while maintaining very high standards of accessibility, usability and search engine ranking.
The clients also chose to rely on the Cantiere Creativo team for their integrated digital strategy: the marketing team supported the Institute with the website press release and newsletter management.
