Bookrepublic - Librerie.Coop EXPO 2015
Bookrepublic is an ebook store we've been developing for many years. Together with LibrerieCoop, Bookrepublic created a new sales platform dedicated to EXPO 2015, to the theme of food and to a visionary blend of digital and print books. We designed and built it.
Bookrepublic and Librerie.Coop
Bookrepublic is an Italian online bookstore for buying books in digital format, offering readers a quality catalog and selection. Librerie.coop is a project created to promote culture through books and reading, and today it counts more than 40 bookstores in historic city centers, shopping malls and corners inside Eataly stores.
User Experience
We paid particular attention to the user experience, building an HTML prototype to test navigation flows and readability, so that purchasing would be easy both on mobile devices and on the large 32'' touchscreen at the fair. We opted for minimalist, neutral graphics that would accommodate the huge variety of cover styles and topics.
React JS frontend
We chose React as the frontend framework, working with Bookrepublic's development team to define the API specifications. The application handles heavy concurrent loads with excellent performance while meeting all SEO requirements.
Ebook reader
We built an ebook reader that lets users preview titles and read purchased books in full. Thanks to responsive design, reading is available on every type of device.

Miya - Japanese Experience
Every day, thousands of Japanese restaurants across Italy open their doors to crowds of customers. So when it comes to Japanese food, everyone thinks only of sushi, invariably split between ultra-luxury restaurants and touristy all-you-can-eat spots. But there's a place in Florence where Japanese cuisine gets back its authenticity.
