Italian Tech Week

Italy's most important technology conference, Italian Tech Week brings together the brightest minds on the international scene every year to talk about innovation, the future and emerging trends.

An infrastructure built for real-time events

The conference needed a web platform that could effectively represent and tell the story of the event, while also serving as the guide and hub of the experience before, during and after it.

A natural browsing experience

When designing the information architecture, it was essential to account for the site's dual role as an event guide and as a promotional and communication platform.

The navigation path had to be clear and natural for every type of user, including people following the events live directly on the platform.

A people-friendly calendar

Refined over two years of collaboration, the agenda was designed from the wireframe stage as an outstanding tool for conference attendees that is also easy for the internal team to manage and update.

A set of validations and roles in DatoCMS ensures full control over changes, even during the most hectic phases leading up to the event.

A style true to the mission

The color palette and typography were chosen to stay consistent with the Italian Tech Week brand: vibrant, bright and always looking to the future.

Accessible by design

Typography and color choices started from accessibility principles, with proper contrast and decisions that put readability ahead of pure visual impact.

Modularity and repeatability

The user interface was designed to be modular, giving the conference's editors maximum flexibility to build content: they can add blocks or entire new pages without a developer's help.

This approach made it possible to rely on the same core structure for several consecutive years without losing freshness or originality.

An effective, efficient tech stack

We selected a stack that meets the event's need for stability, flexibility and scalability. The combination of DatoCMS and NEXT.js delivers a seamless editorial experience, with live preview while content is being entered.

Thanks to the netlify CDN and front-end optimization, pages load in under a second and the infrastructure handles the high traffic spikes you can expect during a live event.

A real-time experience

Thanks to DatoCMS real-time updates, users stay informed about registrations, sold-out sessions and live streams during the event.
